Michael Kingscote: Managing Director
On completion of a full military career during which he commanded a UK Special Forces Regiment, Michael founded Outposts Ltd in 1998. Since then the company has expanded to provide outdoor training to over 8500 clients annually and simultaneously mounts overseas expeditions.

His wide military experience encompasses the conventional and the unorthodox. He has led challenging expeditions in many parts of the world, particularly in the deserts and mountains of the Middle East and Africa. His life has always been an active one and he fully appreciates the need in peoples' lives to be able to work alone or to benefit from working as a team. His extraordinary military background and expertise in expedition leading make him well qualified for the task.

He is an Accredited Practitioner of The Institute of Outdoor Learning, Honorary Colonel of the RTMC and the Ensign of Her Majestys Bodyguard of the Yeoman of The Guard.

Together with Michael they jointly founded Outposts Ltd in order to provide opportunities for young people from all walks of life to travel widely and learn about themselves. Being a true enthusiast of outdoor learning and travelling to unspoilt locations, she loves giving people the opportunity to explore, especially in Africa where her roots are, having been born in Kenya.

Travel Africa was started as enthusiastic parents wanted to share the adventure of Africa with their children and friends; she therefore puts her in country knowledge to good use.

Her other love is horses and she has been a very competent 3 day event rider, representing her country on occasions; she is not short of courage or determination and recommends riding safaris to all those with the same passion.

James Bellamy: Operations Manager
James Bellamy has been working in the great Outdoors for more years than he would care to remember!

His work has taken him throughout Europe and across the European Alps and Nepal Himalaya.
As an IML and keen planner, he now brings this experience to Outposts Ltd.

Fee Bellamy : Overseas Operations
Fee spent 6 years as a trek leader in the European Alps and Nepal Himalayas and traveled throughout India. Her professional knowledge accumulated with groups on expeditions gives added weight to the Outposts Ltd Team.

Fee oversees the administration of all the annual overseas youth expeditions. She is married to James, who also works for Outposts. They have a son, Charlie and a daughter, Georgie.

Helens background as a PA and book-keeper as well as her extensive travels through North and South America, China, Burma, Thailand, South East Asia and Australia made her a natural choice when Outposts Ltd were looking for additional help with their accounts five years ago. She and her family (husband Charles, three daughters, two dogs and recently six pigs) have lived in Somerset for fifteen years.

SAGE both by nature and experience, she deals calmly and efficiently with the quantities of accounts and related queries that an organization like Outposts Ltd generates every week.

Having been born and bred in the West Country Katie spent her Gap year travelling through Brazil and India as well as working for a mission charity in Lucknow.

She graduated from the University of Aberdeen with an MA in Cultural History and International Relations before spending two ski seasons chalet hosting in the French and Swiss Alps.

Tim Sykes: Director
After a short and hugely enjoyable period in the Army, Tim spent the next 25 years with Grand Metropolitan in its Brewing and Property divisions.

He is now the Chairman of Interpub, an ever expanding company that operates pubs and backpackers' hostels. His financial expertise is at the heart of Outposts LTD research and development.

A graduate of Cranfield Business School, he is married to Tisha, a solicitor and has a grown up son.

Tim and Tisha enjoy going on Outposts Travel Africa recces.

Devin Abrahamson: Permenant Instructor
Devin was born in Cape Town and brings the sunshine to England. He lives for kayaking and canoeing and has won rafting competitions in SA.

Nature called him straight from school and from the age of 14 he has been River Guiding. With his unforgettable personality he has years of experience at being a charismatic instructor. He spent two years in the Kalahari, on the Orange River, then four years on the Tugela River, not only river guiding but teaching outdoor activities to both children and corporate clients. It was this connection that brought him to England to learn how we do it here.

His passionate aim is to give children in the UK, so far as humanly possible some taste for the thrills and experiences that made him the man that he is.
